BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches
DOWNLOADWe Have What You'll Need:
- 3-4 Pound Boneless Pork Butt/shoulder
- ½ cup low sodium chicken broth
- 1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar
- ¼ cup packed brown sugar
- 3 teaspoons of kosher salt
- 2 teaspoons of garlic powder, 2 teaspoons of onion powder, 2 teaspoons of smoked paprika, 2 teaspoons of dry ground mustard.
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- Sandwich rolls of choice as well as BBQ sauce and coleslaw of choice.
Directions
- Trim any excess fat (but not all) from the pork shoulder and cut into 4 equal pieces.
- In a small bowl whisk together the brown sugar and all the seasonings; rub the spice mixture all over the pork pieces.
- Oven: pour the chicken broth and vinegar into the bottom of a large Dutch oven or heavy bottom pot. Stir to combine. Add seasoned pork pieces to the pot cover the pot with a lid and place in 300 degrees F preheated oven. Cook for 3 hours. Remove lid and cook for an additional 1-2 hours or until pork is very tender and separates easily.
