Meat Lasagna - Sendik's Fine Foods

We Have What You'll Need:

  • Package of Lasagna Noodles
  • 1 LB. of Ground Chuck
  • 2 garlic cloves, (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 (16 ounce) package of cottage cheese
  • ½ cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 ½ cups of tomato-basil pasta sauce
  • 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large pot boil lightly salted water. Add the lasagna noodles for 10 minutes. 
  2. Meanwhile, place ground chuck, garlic, oregano, garlic powder, salt & pepper in a large skillet over medium heat; cook and stir until beef is crumbly and evenly browned. 
  3. Mix the cottage cheese, parmesan, and eggs together in a large bowl. 
  4. Lay 4 noodles side by side on the bottom of a baking pan. Top with a layer of prepared tomato-basil sauce, a layer of ground beef mixture, and a layer of cottage cheese mix. Repeat layers twice, ending with a layer of sauce. Cover the dish with aluminum foil. 
  5. Bake in preheated oven until lasagna is bubbling and the cheese has melted, about 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake until cheese begins to brown.

    Enjoy with Italian bread or rolls!
