Broiled Grapefruit
DOWNLOADWe Have What You'll Need:

Easy and elegant. This makes a great dessert or special brunch addition.
Serves 2
2 ruby red grapefruit
2 tablespoons brown sugar
salt
Optional: Garnish with pomegranate seeds
Directions
Turn on the broiler in your oven.
Split the grapefruit in half and use a paring knife to cut all around each segment separating the fruit from the white pith. This will make scooping the fruit out easier for your guests. Place all four halves on a baking tray or in an oven-proof pan. Sprinkle the halves evenly with brown sugar and top with just a tiny bit of salt to bring out the flavor. Place the grapefruit halves under the broiler until they turn bubbly and a little brown (or even slightly black) around the edges. This usually takes about 3 – 5 minutes, but make sure to monitor it because every broiler is different.
Add a drizzle of maple syrup for an extra treat. Try using one of the Crown Syrups for an extra special finale.
Enjoy!
